Dentures are designed to give you the convenience of real teeth without the expense associated with other, more permanent solutions like bridges or implants. There are two different kinds of dentures, complete and partial, and which kind you will need depends on how many teeth you have left and their health. At La Mesa Dental, we take the time to understand our clients, and will always provide you with personalized solutions so that you can have your very best smile for as long as possible.
These essentially work like retainers, with false teeth attached to a plastic base and supported by discreet metal wiring. Partials are generally used when there are still healthy teeth left in the mouth, in order to enhance the smile and function of the mouth as well as prevent the natural teeth from moving around.
Complete dentures are used when there are no longer any healthy teeth left in the mouth. Generally, your dentist will determine if this option is right for you, and then pull any remaining healthy teeth. Depending on your needs, you may receive your full set of dentures immediately, or your dentist may request that you return in a couple months in order to give the jaw time to fully heal.
At La Mesa Dental, we are passionate about people—learning more about them, helping them, and watching as their smile transforms right before our eyes. You can be sure that here, we will always put you first, and ensure that you have all the information you need to make quality decisions about your teeth, your oral health, and your overall health.
